Too long….
My last post was to long ago. I vowed to keep things fresh in 2010. We introduced our site back in August and I spent quite a bit of time this past Fall putting content on the new site. It also helped that we had a Sales and Marketing Intern this summer to assist in getting things on the site going. Since time, I have spent quite a bit of time with our Twitter account (www.twitter/ExpressIndyS) and my personal LinkedIn account. This has been a great way to learn the ropes of social media.
We have started tweeting our jobs out and tweeting information that pertains to job related information. We recently received some great press and were recognized http://bit.ly/SocialMediaExpressGW by Entreprenuer.com for how we are using social media to connect with the local community here in Greenwood and the Southside. Today we launched our Job Seeker Blog and Phill Powell from our office won the privilege of putting out the first post http://www.expressindysouth.com/2010/01/21/pilgrims/
Our goal is to publish timely information on the site that is relevant to job seekers. We want to help as many people as possible, even the associates that never find work through Express. We see a lot of associates that come into our office and we have a ton of great information, tips and advice that we can pass along. The good news is – we have started to really see the number of job openings increase and our Employment Specialists have been busy filling jobs. Great way to start the New Year.
